Our Values

High quality rocking horses

We make each rocking horse by hand according to traditional methods passed down through three generations of the Hignett family. Current crafter Jim Hignett was taught the trade by his father at a young age, and he has been making them professionally on and off for the last 30 years.

It takes about three weeks for James to carve, paint and decorate each horse by hand from poplar. Our horses are built to the highest standard and are designed to last for generations.

A Personal Touch

Working with you

Whilst we produce traditional rocking horses such as the Dapple Grey, each creation is a unique individual. We also cater for a variety of tastes and can craft custom horses to your specifications in our bespoke workshop in Bedfordshire. We deliver the horses ourselves to guarantee safe and timely arrival.

Restoration

Jim can also restore pre-loved rocking horses to their former glory. He has been making rocking horses in his family’s style since childhood, so has extensive experience in the traditional techniques required to restore antique and pre-owned horses of any age.

Get in touch if you have a rocking horse, old or new, that needs some attention, and we can work out how best to get it looking its best and ready to be enjoyed for years to come.
